My fascination with music began while listening to my parents vinyl music collection. Their collection included The Beatles and The Grateful Dead; two bands that had a significant impact on my music tastes. This is how it all started. Flash ahead to 1994 where my music tastes really began to expand. This was the year when alternative rock music grabbed my attention with bands such as Green Day, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Weezer, and Rancid. In the late 90’s, my metal tastes really came into focus. It was 1998 and Korn had just come out with their album Follow The Leader. As a result, my desire to listen to metal music exploded. I remain a metal fanatic to this very day listening to a wide variety of acts ranging from Black Sabbath to Deep Purple to Slayer and Pantera, and all the way to Lamb of God and Hatebreed. One day I hope to visit the rock n roll hall of fame!
Although metal music is my specialty, I enjoy talking about other styles of rock music from oldies to alternative. I have extensive knowledge of music eras ranging from the British invasion of the 60’s to the grunge/alternative rock movement of the 90’s. I would also like to point out that I’m a big fan of underground metal music from Madison and around the midwest.
